For years now, I have been watching Pastor Joel Osteen on TV every Sunday. Like many people, I found his broadcast on a lazy Sunday morning while I was flipping channels on TV. And while I have never watched any religious programs, evangelical broadcasts - seeing as I'm not Christian, but this day I stopped for a moment to listen to what Pastor Joel was saying and instantly I was hooked.
Not only does his congregation fill the Compaq Centre in Houston, Texas every Sunday, but his following is around the world and spans far beyond the Christian faith. Even my mother-in-law watches him and see too found his show serendipidously and just loved his positive messages.
He is definitely a special kind of Pastor, because his message is universal and I believe that's what draws people of all faiths to him - messages of kindness, faith, honesty and positivity for your life.
Recently, he has become an Oprah's LifeClass guest and I was so happy to see that his wisdom would be shared with an even greater audience.
In particular, he spoke in one LifeClass about the Power of 'I am'. In particular, he said "Whatever follows the words 'I am' will come looking for you". Wow. That was an a-ha moment for me (as well as Oprah!) - so if you go around saying 'I'm not smart enough, not pretty enough, not a good mother, dumb etc...) that's exactly what's going to manifest itself.
Here is a clip I wanted to share with you from Oprah's LifeClass about this very topic. Please do take a moment and think about what you tend to say after the words "I am" and if that is what you want in your future, because if it isn't, you must change what follows "I am".
