I really appreciate this article especially because it's coming from our desi community where ppl are pretty car-happy and are almost snubbish and condescending towards those of us who don't have cars. You'd also swear to God, ppl would bite your head off if u even looked like heaven forbid, u would even need a ride. Consequently, I've seen ppl run away even when I don't have this in my mind.

I also find it odd that when I emailed mybindi to try and start a carpooling group for Indian groceries, I never heard back. So I guess it does go back to the great leveller- travelling on subway and public transit.
