RBC desiFEST Toronto with Apache Indian- May 31st

Dftorflyer yeah, yeah I know my previous post was on RBC desiFEST Vancouver and the next one is on Toronto, but that how my life has been revolving. Going national was not easy, but the success and praise from artists takes away all the pain we went through. Toronto is our Grand Finale on May 31st  @ dundas square featuring, none other than the don... Apache Indian! That's right.. Apace is back and back with a bang in Toronto.

I never imagined that one day I will be sharing the stage with Apache, someone that I admired as a kid. Exciting as it is to talk about it, it is 6:00 pm and  I am getting ready for the long weekend blast. so check out RBC desiFEST at our website , be there on May 31st and do invite your friends. It is going to be one fun event 11am-11pm featuring 32 artists for 12 hours non stop.

I am going to be at the CMR south Asian Mela on Saturday evening and I will be with Syerah at the Mybindi booth for sometime. So drop by to say hi to Syerah (and me !) and lets talk lots more on RBC desiFEST. Have a safe and wonderful long weekend.

Cheers!

desiFEST Vancouver May 3rd- Gas Town

If you were wondering why I have been MIA from blogs, then this is it. I have been busy getting ready for desiFEST Vancouver that is coming up this weekend at Gas Town. Mybindi is one of our sponsors for the festival (I 'm sure that has put a smile on Syerah's :)

I am just loving spring in Vancouver. I have been boring all my friends here talking all the time about the trees and mountains in Vancouver. Even though I come to Vancouver few times a year on work, this has been my best trip. Got to agree with the slogan "beautiful British Columbia"  and success and contribution of the Punjabi community towards the growth and development of BC is remarkable. I learned one new funky word "apna" and definitely 'Apna' have made all of us proud.

I promise to come back and blog more on BC but for now its all about desiFEST

Just a plug in for my festival desiFEST . desiFEST Vancouver takes place on Saturday May 3rd, 2008 at Gas Town on Water Street. That right, Water street Gas Town. We are shutting down from Cambie to Richards oDesifest_van_webn Gas Town to bring the most exciting south Asian music festival to Vancouver.

desiFEST is not only the largest south Asian music festival in North America, we are also the only national south Asian festival. Our mandate is to promote south Asian Canadian artists to the mainstream (and have Fun:) . WE are 100% Canadian. What that means is that we promote local talent and support Canadian artists instead of flying in entertainers from other countries.

So if you are in Vancouver area, get out there to Gas Town on May 3rd and enjoy some great music. FREE. 10:00am- 8:00pm. 10 hours of FREE non stop music.

Check us out www.desifest.ca and spread the word. This event is for the mainstream to come and enjoy  dance and music by  Canadian artists along side South Asian Canadians. If you are there, look for me and say hi.

Bring a lawn chair for yourself and hugs(guys) and kisses(babes) for me.
