16 oz. (450 g) tofu
1/4 cup (60 mL) spicy flavoured oil
1 sprig coriander, chopped
1 Tbsp. (15 mL) soya sauce*
2 Tbsp. (30 mL)peanut oil*
2 Tbsp. (30 mL) rice vinegar
Slice tofu 1 cm ( 1/2 inch)thick, then cut in triangles.
In a frying pan, heat peppery oil, stir-fry tofu 3 minutes until browned.
In a bowl, mix all sauce ingredients; set aside.
Remove tofu triangles from the frying pan and put on paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
Put the triangles on a plate and top with the sauce.
For a South Asian Desi Twist:
Substitute the pepper oil for hot sauce or chilli sauce for a spicy stir fry.
