There's a hidden gem in almost every city. The Flea Market. Mind you they are not for the faint of heart. Parking is a nightmare, and around every corner someone is trying to get you to buy into a hot deal on sunglasses or some thing else that you really don't need. But if you look carefully there are diamonds in the rough. Stalls of Indian vendors carrying Indian suits, sarees and jewellery pop out in between dvd shops and hanging carpets (no flying ones sorry). With a lower overhead cost than most established shop owners, flea markets are a good place to bargain your way into some fab finds. In Brampton (Airport and Steeles Ave) we spotted some great deals on jewellery that were half the price of other Indian shops around the city. From diamonte bangles to full necklace sets, there is a deal to be had if you have the patience and skill of the hunt.
So the next time you're in the market for some new gear on a budget, drop by your local flea market as you just might run out screaming "Start the car!"
